2001 Joint Annual Meeting

and MichMATYC

The 2001 Joint Annual Meeting of the Michigan Section of the Mathematical Association of America and MichMATYC, the Michigan Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges, will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 27-28, 2001, at Hope College in Holland.

Most activities will take place in VanderWerf and VanZoeren Halls, which are connected buildings. Registration will be outside 104 VanderWerf from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday, April 27, and from 8:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, April 28. At the end of the formal program, there will be a Building Bridges workshop from 2:15 to 4:15 pm on Saturday afternoon. The noon luncheon on Friday will be at the Haworth Inn, and the AWM-WAM breakfast and the Saturday luncheon will be in Maas Auditorium. The Annual Banquet on Friday evening will be held at the Piper Restaurant, about a 5-mile drive west of the Hope College campus.

Advance reservations are required for all scheduled meals. The registration form is available online or on page 20 of the printed program. It should be mailed in time to reach the Department of Mathematics no later than Friday, April 20, 2001. Complimentary refreshments will be available in VanderWerf, near the book and computer exhibits.

A Holland area map can be found on the back cover of the program, and a parking map is on the last page. (Here are a Campus Map and a local street map.) Hotel information is on page 18. Reservations should be made directly with the hotels. To assure your room, please reserve at the Haworth and Comfort Inns by April 6, at the Holland Inn by April 6, and at the Days Inn by April 13.
