2004 Joint Annual Meeting

& MichMATYC

The 2004 Joint Annual Meeting of the Michigan Section of the Mathematical Association of America and MichMATYC, the Michigan Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges, will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 7–8, 2004, at Oakland University in Rochester.

Registration, exhibits, complimentary refreshments, and all sessions will be held in Dodge Hall. Registration will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, and from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8. The noon luncheons on both Friday and Saturday, as well as the AWM-WAM breakfast on Saturday morning, will be held in the Oakland Center, and the Awards Banquet on Friday evening will take place in historic Meadow Brook Hall. All of these venues are on the easily accessed Oakland University campus.

Advance reservations are required for all scheduled meals. In particular, the Meadow Brook banquet hall holds only a little over 100 guests, and it will be “first come, first served.” The registration form is on the registration page. It should be mailed in time to reach the Department of Mathematics and Statistics no later than Friday, April 23, 2004.

Student Sessions

There will be separate sessions devoted to talks by undergraduate and graduate students. The deadline for abstracts for these talks is Friday, April 23. Abstracts for undergraduate student talks may be submitted to Gerard Venema (venema@calvin.edu), and abstracts for graduate student talks may be submitted to Matt Boelkins (boelkinm@gvsu.edu). Complete information about student talks will be included in the final version of the program that is distributed at the meeting.
