The Executive Committee of the Michigan Section recommends the following amendments to the Section Bylaws. The intent is to include the MMPC director as an ex officio member of the Executive Committee. The proposed amendments will be voted on during the Business Meeting at the Annual Meeting May. If approved by a majority of those attending the Business Meeting, they will be submitted to the Board of Governors for approval.

(1) to change Article III, section 2, sentence 2 of the Bylaws

from: The Newsletter Editor, the Public Information Officer, and the Webmaster shall serve as ex-officio non-voting members

to: The Newsletter Editor, the Public Information Officer, the Director of the Michigan Mathematics Prize Competition, and the Webmaster shall serve as ex-officio non-voting members.

(2) to change Article VI, section 4a. of the Bylaws

from: serve as an ex-officio member of the Examination Committee

to: serve as an ex-officio member of the Examination Committee and serve as an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee.
